Overview

We are seeking a mid-level AWS Cloud Developer to join our team supporting the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Data Engineering and Processing (DEAP) project. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing high-volume data ingestion pipelines that are crucial to CFTC's operations. Your work will ensure the integrity and functionality of vital regulatory and analytical systems.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an Agile team to design, code, test, and implement AWS cloud-based solutions.
• Provide engineering support for data migration and cloud database maintenance.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders for requirement gathering and task estimations.
• Conduct routine data checks and quality assessments.
• Participate in database and systems analysis, design, and implementation.
• Contribute to code reviews and support cloud deployments.
• Provide regular progress updates within the Agile framework and through weekly status reports.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 5 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma and 9 years of experience.
• Proficiency with AWS tools (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, etc.) and programming languages (Python, XML).
• Experience with data migration strategies and ETL processes using AWS resources.
• US Citizenship and capability to obtain CFTC agency clearance.
• AWS Developer certification.

Engagement Details

• Location: Hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. with flexible telecommuting.
• Must be onsite three days per week.
